Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wireless speaker for the money. JBL Playlist I wanted to experience the JBL Playlist because I was looking for a wireless speaker to listen to music on Spotify, and this one had both Bluetooth and wifi connection as well as the audio jack. I have had JBL car speakers a number of years ago before kids, when you could listen to music as loud as you wanted and was always impressed with the quality of sound. When I opened the box i was pleased with the look and colour of the unit. It has an uncovered subwoofer to the rear (which took me a little by surprise). I have used it for a number of garden parties which it performed great with a rich sound and a good bass. It was plenty loud enough to annoy the neighbours. I found it easy to connect via wifi and Bluetooth at home but had a bit of trouble connecting to another wifi connection especially when I had to unplug it to move it outside. Overall I am am really pleased with this speaker and would definitely recommend it to my family and friends who are looking for a mid priced wireless speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speaker! I had been waiting for the Playlist release from its announcement. I was looking for a Google Chromecast built-in speaker that would be used in our outside covered patio area to replace a JBL Clip with and Chromecast Audio dongle which lacked the power and was a bit messy with the wires. The Playlist was reasonably priced ($149 with fathers day sale) and had Bluetooth and a wired audio-in jack (which many of the competitors where missing) to supplement the dual band WiFi used for the Chromecast functions. The Playlist was easy to setup with the Google Home App. I also added it speaker groups (in the Google Home App) with no issues (my speaker group includes a couple of Chromecast Audios and the Playlist). The sound is phenomenal! Its loud and clear with no distorion even in the outside environment i am using it in and has nice bass response that is not overdone. In short it was exactly what I was looking for. The only improvement would have been a battery so it could be portable.... maybe a future Playlist2 would add that feature?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful speaker with great performance I am over the moon with the JBL Playlist. Everything from the size of it, to the quality audio it produces simply amazes me. I have used it every day since receiving it, both indoors and outdoors. In both settings the audio was flawless and clear, with amazing bass. The price is a tiny bit steep and I'd preferably fork out about £120 instead, but other than that it's a fantastic speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice The one with good soundstage and sound quality, which has in-built Chromecast and Bluetooth. Sound wise, jbl playlist is not a hifi speaker, though produces wide soundstage.

Hi I play my music from, in order, a) Amazon Prime b) iTunes c) YouTube. Is it worth me getting this speaker? Best,

Asked by: BMLondon
Hi, The JBL Playlist has Chromecast Audio built-in- So basically every streaming audio service that supports Chromecast can be used with the JBL Playlist. This includes Amazon Prime Music. iTunes and Youtube do not support Chromecast Audio, so if you want to stream audio from these sources, you will need to connect to the JBL Playlist by Bluetooth. If you require further information, please send us an email on customer.support@harman.com

Do you have to press a button to switch between Chromecast and auxiliary input mode or will it switch inputs automatically?

Asked by: g100
Hi G100, Thank you for your question. You will have to press play in the app you are using in order to use AUX and Chromecast there are no button press to switch between them, so to explain further, if you were playing Chromecast from a music source and starts playing from an analog source, then the Playlist will switch to the analog source, but connection via Chromecast will be disconnected. Going back to the Chromecast music source, the JBL playlist will reconnect to the service and then you press play to use that service. Contact us at customer.service@harman.com if you need more help.

[PROBLEM] I have sound delay issue. When JBL Playlist is connected via Bluetooth or WIFI there is a 0,5 to 1 second lag. It's very annoying while watching movies on YouTube. How to fix it?

Asked by: mikepoland
The JBL PLAYLIST is mainly designed for audio playback so using Bluetooth connection from the speaker to the TV will encounter this Lip-Sync issue. It is because the Video and Audio playback of the TV takes time to be process via Bluetooth going to the speaker. However, if you will be using wired connection via an Auxiliary cable, this will reduce the process of Audio Playback and it will resolve the Lip-Sync delay issue.
