JBL Boombox is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The price is steep, but it is worth it! Amazing sound, amazing battery. All in all a super product. I have not tried to pair it with my other 2 JBL speakers, but I am sure it will work. It seems very well made. It's really too soon to tell anything else, but trust me, the sound is amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome but JBL PLEASE READ Love the speaker but it has an issue, when you use the AUX port, if the audio playing through It is particularly low the speaker seems to think it's not getting any input so it stops playing sound and picks back up when the audio get sent loud enough again. Really would love to see this fixed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall great speaker except for one thing Ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived on Friday at work(the same week), going for my lunch break, i saw this big box on the desk with the name Harman on it, i was like wooooot!! its actually here! xD, ofc i couldn't wait and i started unboxing it straight away(was feeling like a kid on Christmas), in all seriousness, when i took the speaker out of the box i instantly smiled and had felt real good knowing that i own one of these now, i was expecting it to be big, but not That big (that's what she said, yeah i know..), i was really impressed on its size and how nice it looked, given the fact that before ordering\receiving it i was literally watching all of YouTube videos about it. It looks simple but at the same time stylish, let me put it that way. Soundwise: In my opinion, the Base on this thing is its main selling point(mostly the reason why i bought it in the first place even though i have 2 Xtremes), the jump from 70hz to 50hz in freq response is more noticeable than i thought, don't get me wrong, the Xtreme sounds very good for its size, but with the Boombox it a huge difference, and here i'm referring especially on its capability of reproducing deep\low base. I've spent many hours going from playlist to playlist just to hear the difference and i can almost say that i was listening to totally different songs than before. All i can say is that its a pleasure listening to this speaker and although its on the expensive side, personally, from what i saw and experienced, i have the reassurance that the price that i pay justifies the product - you pay for quality, not for marketing.(this way i'd like to thank my brother for recommending me this brand as i first heard of it from him; from what i know, he knows JBL from many years ago, he saw some big speakers in a club called Red&Black or something like that, was quite impressed by them :) ). Now, the only thing that while it does bother me, i can live with it - is the fact that if i want to listen to music, watch movies or play games on low volume, i can hear a noticeable white noise\hiss from it, sometimes it cuts the sound off on the more silent moments(whispering, silent game effects, etc) until the more noticeable sound effects kick in. If i increase the volume it goes away(or it gets covered by the loudness of the sound) and all is fine. I don't consider this as a big issue as i'm thinking that this speaker was designed mainly for party and medium to loud listening, but nonetheless it is still something that i cannot ignore either. I have tested this both on Bluetooth and on AUX Cable and the results are the same, phone and PC, as for volume levels, i've tested in both scenarios where the speaker was at 100% - the phone\PC was at one or two notches of volume and vice versa. All in all, i would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking or not sure if to buy one of these or not (Christmas is near anyways, so why not make yourself a "little" present? i dare you to re-read my review after you get one and see if you felt the same as i did *evil smile* ). In the end, as a small tip, its recommended to first discharge\use the Boombox as much as you can until its almost out of juice and then plug it in for charging (this goes for other speakers as well). Don't recharge it randomly, it will help having a longer lasting battery life (thanks customer service for this information and for the fast reply).

What power will it have?

Asked by: Jeleu
2 x 30w or in battery mode 2 x 20w
Answered by: CianGibo9
Date published: 2017-12-02

I saw that the power is 40w but is that the combined power of each speaker driver or individual power? (for what i know theres 2 bass radiators and 4(?) other drivers)

Asked by: Infident
Hi Thank you for your question The output power of the Boombox is 30W in AC mode and 20W in battery mode. This is the combined output effect. Besides the 2 passive bass radiators, boombox is fitted with 4 drivers - 2 20mm tweeters and 2 4" woofers. How loud is Boombox compared to Extreme? What is the difference between JBL Connect and JBL Connect +?

Asked by: allalone
Hi! The JBL Boombox is much louder and has much more bass than the xtreme and it can hit 20hz lower than the xtreme, it has four 4 inch woofers and two 20mm tweeters, it can go as loud and maybe even louder than the harman go +play. Jbl connect allows up to two Bluetooth speakers to connect and play simultaneously, jbl connect + allows 100+ speakers to connect and play simultaneously.

Which is the difference of power with the Xtreme? Xtreme has an output power of 20w+20w (total 40W). Has Boombox the same power? So what was the difference? Which has higher volume? If I buy the Boombox, what differences I am going obtain?

Asked by: John from Bs As
Hi , The JBL Boombox is more powerful since the 20w+20w power of the Xtreme is only when it's in AC mode or plugged in. The Boombox has 20W+20W output power on battery mode while it has a power output of 30W+30W in AC mode. Another difference is that the Boombox has the Connect + feature which allows you to connect to 100+ devices with the Connect + feature while the Connect feature of the Xtreme only allows you to connect to 2 Connect feature devices. If you need further information,Please submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.
