High-fidelity component car speakers bring life to your sound system.

JBL GTO 609C component speaker handles 270 watts peak power (75 watts RMS). This much power makes for an ideal match to systems powered with head-unit or factory-amplifier power levels. Even better, the speaker matches many of the GTO Series amplifier combinations. As a result, it can keep up with systems that feature one or more subwoofers and satisfy high-fidelity audiophile listeners. And its great power-handling specifications also increase reliability over the lifetime of the speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gto is quality I purchased 2 pair of these for one of my car has a excellent quality sound, then I purchased the same set up for my other car. I used to have the gti crossovers and these are so close to that quality, I am a electronic freak and I love jbl they do make great speakers, after all they been here for long time,

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor sound but at least it fits Installed these to replace broken stock units in a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. Had to fabricate a plate to make them fit, but these are one of the only <3 ohm units out there for a reasonably close match. Compared to stock units, these deliver deeper bass but far less detail (virtually none) and are boomy sounding. Not even close to sound quality of original units which is a disappointment. I expected much better sound.

Can i use JBL GTO609c with stock stereo system of my car Honda Brio & without any AMP.

Asked by: Rajat_1991
These speakers can work with just 5 Watts of power so a factory unit is sufficient however check for seating as the magnets are large so it does not hinder the functioning of your pwoer windows

I plan on running the 609 on an active crossover, can you recommend rms, hz, db and anything else?

Asked by: Rflo
The GTO609C is a complete system by itself having a dedicated crossover to produce the best quality sound the GTO 609C as intended to. The provided passive crossover plays a large part in the sonic quality. However, if you choose to go with an active crossover, a great starting point is 2500Hz. You should not go below 2000Hz or above 4000Hz. Just find the point that sounds best to you. As for wattage, the woofer can handle the full 200 watts of power, while the tweeter should not go above 75 watts.

Hi, does it fit for Toyota Estima 2006? If yes, does it need to connect to an amplifier? Thank you.

Where is the best place to mount the tweeter? Any limitations such as tweeter should be placed within "xx" inches max from the woofer?

I've got a Blaupunkt 945 Capetown , and would like a pair of JBL. GTO 609c , would I need an amp, if so which amp would I go for .

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi. For all "normal" listening, your head unit should do fine, based on the stated output of 50 W per channel. If you want to play close to the limit of loud the 609 can go, you should get a separate amplifier, which will usually improve audio quality as well. The JBL GX-A604 can deliver up to 170 W per channel into two channels in bridged mode, and would do nicely. The smaller 602 is not much more powerful than your head unit on paper, but should give you more authority and better quality, although it will not play much louder than the head unit, at least not based on the power specs alone at 60 W per channel into 4 Ohms.

Hi I'm interested in a pair of jbl gto 609c 16.5 front speakers plus a jbl series 2 1224ss 12" sub in box in rear ...was thinking of either gto 3ez or 5ez amp to run ...can u tell me which would be best or do I need something else ??????

Asked by: Phil s
Hi Thank you for the question. This sounds like a real nice speaker-system which you have in mind. The GTO amps are not in our product range any longer, so I would recommend you a Club 704 or a GX-A604. if you have other questions please contact our help-dask.

hi, if i use this speaker, Which model's amp is right for you? my car is santafe dm 2017. but no amp type so if i use this speaker, i buy new amp. I wish you could suggest. I do not want to be expensive as a good product. i wnat use with GTO 629

Asked by: cjcky73
Hi! Given the specifications of the speaker, what we can recommend is the Club 704 amplifier. It is a 4 channel car amplifier that has a Power Output, 70W RMS x 4 @ 4Ω, <1.0% THD+N

Please clear it says 90w RMS on back of speaker and on specs it says RMS handling 5w-200w so which RMS should I consider while matching amp. And it is a 3ohm speaker so how i match an amp, should i see 4ohm or 2ohm.

Asked by: Mukul007
The GTO 609C can handle and average wattage of 75W but can still work with an amplifier powering it between 5W-200W. The Peak power handling is 270W and should not use an amp that has that kind of power as it can cause the speaker to get damaged. The amp should run on 4 ohms since the GTO has a true 4 ohm technology that allows it to run on a 4 ohm amplifier
