Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome Sound Bar and Subwoofer! I bought this about 6 months ago and compared to my old sorround sound system that i had its so much cleaner and the bass is ridiculous and being bluetooth is so awsome and not having wires run through my walls and having to make holes. Its so easy to setup to your tv or even if your just using it in the garage to play misic!

I have a jbl xtreme but I wanted something stationary at home .Is this a good speaker for music ?

Asked by: Emilio
The Cinema SB 400 is mainly designed to replace your TV speakers and also has the ability wirelessly stream audio from your smart devices, delivering room-filling, full-range sound reproduction with exceptional bass. This should be a suitable stationary system for your home.

I am really missing a button on the remote to select a bluetooth source. 1. Is there another way to let the soundbar switch to bluetooth, without having to walk over to the sounbar? 2. Could I program a universal remote to select a bluetooth source?

Asked by: Dwight
Sorry to hear that, for the first question, sadly, no. You have to manually press the Bluetooth button. For the 2nd question, although the SB 400 can learn other TV remote's command, it can only learn Power on/off, Volume +/- and mute.

SB400 Subwoofer without soundbar.  Can you have it alone, how if so?  Even know I'm pretty sure it can't, I ain't an expert.  Hope it might.

Asked by: gmh2
Unfortunately, the SUB would need the SB400 for it to work. It is not a stand alone type of Sub Woofer. So no, you cannot use it alone.

How to connect JBL SB 400 to tv remote

Asked by: Bradly
You don't actually want to program your remote to control the SB400, you want to teach your SB400 the remote commands from your DirectTV remote. You see, the SB400 has a learning remote built into it. Follow these directions and you'll be all set. With the SB400 on, press and hold the Surround button until the Power button flashes amber. Then let go. 1. Press the button you want to program first on the SB400. For example, if you want to program the volume up button, press the + button once and let go. 2. You now have 5 seconds to program it with your DirectTV remote, press and release the volume up button until the SB400's Source button gets solid white for one second, then the power button will return to flashing amber . 3. You can go through the same procedure for the other buttons (Volume down,Power,Mute). 4. When you’re finished, press and hold the soundbar’s Surround button until the Power button stops flashing amber. NOTE: While the instructions state that you should be 12" from the SB400 when doing the programming, staying at a distance of 2-3 feet will likely give you better results.

I'd like to ask you about the intern wifi frequency of this device 2,4 GHZ or 5 GHZ? I bought this product and it shows instability problems. Sometimes immediately stop working  although every status display is OK.  After a while it works again. Any idea?

Asked by: Andras
The SB400’s Bluetooth is running on 2.4 GHz. If you are having intermittent connection issues when connected via Bluetooth, this can be caused by any electronic device between the source and the soundbar that is also using that frequency. Please try to eliminate any source of electro-magnetic interference.

My sound bar has lost it's sound. It has worked well for over a year?

Asked by: runman
What you are experiencing is not normal. To isolate if the issue is with the SB400, there are a few things to check – • Make sure that the cables from the TV to the Soundbar are snugly connected. • Check if the TV is set to use external speakers. • Check if you are on the correct source in the Soundbar in respect to what cable you are using. • Press the “Volume +” button on the Soundbar or on the remote to make sure that it is not on Mute. • Try a different cable, and a different port on the TV, if available If what was suggested did not help, please submit a request at www.jbl.com/contactus and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.
