Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sound! I got this speaker as a Father's Day present from my kids. The sound is actually better than I had expected and the volume is quite decent as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JBL Xtreme 2 I bought this about a month ago refurbished from JBL. Excellent overall. Things to note: 1) auto shut off only when on batteries 2) Have to have proprietary power supply to charge. Would like to charge with solar power without inverter. 3) The microphone is not too good. Have to be right in front of it to be clear. I did not buy it for this so I don't care. 4) Sound is very good. The best I have heard in something this small. I believe the mids are missing a little something is not quite right but darn good! 5) Louder on ac power, but it is plenty loud anyway 6) Bluetooth cuts out if you go too far away and does not come back on by itself. 7) Two Bluetooths will work 8) JBL does not tell you what their firmware upgrades are for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected - very satisfied Bought this to play outdoors. Took it on a recent beach trip and it worked very well. Bluetooth connects quickly and has good range. Sound quality was terrific. This meant I never really was able to turn it up very loud as you could hear everything at reasonable volumes, particularly tough in a noisy beach environment. Used it to charge our cell phones while out so that’s a great feature as well. 10 hours on the beach never tested the battery life. Overall very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good speaker! I bought my Extreme 2 on 5/13/2019 and after having it for about 2 month now, I can recommend this product. It’s good enough to be taken to the beach and jam in the water (water proof phone needed) great for the pool. Great battery life, I played mine for about 10 hours at 85% to 100% volume and the battery at the end was still about 35%. I do wish it was I little louder because in open spaces is needed, but in comparison to another speaker I own the Sonos One the Extreme 2 it’s just as load. I also wish I could be charge with a USB C changer to make charging easier on the go (maybe the upcoming model). I Bought another Extreme 2 for my mother and when pair to mine using the JBL connect app is a game changer, you can easily have a beach or pool party. I definitely recommend Spending the extra dollars for the Extreme 2. My brother has a JBL Flip 4 (great for the size) and a JBL Charge 4 (good)

this speaker has the same battery as the previous model?

Asked by: leyva007
You mean this X2 has same exact battery that was in the Xtreme ? The same battery that lasts only a year before one or both of the cells swells up and stops holding a charge ? I would have hoped you learned from the bad history of the previous battery and improved / fixed the issues.

How could JBL mislead customers in CES wherein official representative clearly stated that Xtreme 2 will have 50watt of power?? Further, in the spec sheet there is no mention of 3D bass radiator?? @Maria customer service..55-20khz or 70-20kh??

Asked by: srvmj
We apologize for any inconvenience but whatever is mentioned at CES is what is planned - the final product still may change. The official specifications for the JBL Xtreme 2 are: 2 x 20 W (AC Power) 2 x Passive Radiators Frequency Response: 55Hz - 20 kHz If you have any more questions, you may look at the spec sheet for the Xtreme 2 that is available on the JBL. Please also feel free to reach out to us by submitting a case request at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

How do you know when the unit is fully charged? what is the difference between the light being blue vs. white?

Asked by: Arimenta
Please note that there are three different lighting patterns for JBL Xtreme and Xtreme 2 that indicate a fully charged battery. These patterns depend on software in the speaker, and all are correctly indicating full charge. (This cannot be changed by updating.) 1. The five LEDs light up, first one, then two, three, four and five, with the topmost one blinking, and the lower ones lighting constantly. When charging is complete, all LEDs go out. 2. The five LEDs light up, like above. When charging is complete, all five LEDs light constantly. 3. The five LEDs light up, like above. The fifth LED keeps on blinking, with the other ones lighting constantly. When you remove power, all five LEDs light constantly.
