JBL Bar 5.1 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bass and immersive surround sound I bought this about 30 days ago and so far i am very happy with it's overall sound and features. Very easy to connect and get up and running. The Wireless 10" subwoofer is the best wireless soundbar subwoofer i have heard. Plenty of bass. Rear speakers and mounts are a genius and work well! I was surprised. Make sure you calibrate them with the included mic and wall mount them for best performance. Don't just set them on coffee tables or stands on each side of couch. Remote is very useful with volume settings for the overall system and independent volume settings for the subwoofer and rear surround speakers. Only real weak point for the JBL 5.1 is during 2 channel or stereo music like thru bluetooth. Not as good as others i have owned but for movies or TV content thru good sources it's a awesome set up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value Excellent value. Good sound, especially the sub. Quality construction and form factor. Doesn't support the ultra high end audio codecs but sound quality is still impressive. Leaving the surrounds attached to the bar doesn't add a ton to the sound stage but for convenience it's helpful to have them functional even when not used as dedicated surrounds.

Do the dimensions stated for the soundbar include the detachable rear speakers?

Asked by: Johnuk
Ren at customer service is incorrect. The bar is 33" without surround sound speakers attached. The bar is 45" with the surround speakers attached. I got mine in the mail today and measured.

Hi! The information about the actual length of the soundbar can be found on its product page - it would be 45" or 1148 mm.

Hi, I paired my soundbar with my TV using ARC., this way I can also use my tv'S remote controller for the sound bar. WHen I turn off my tv, the soundbar goes on standby mode. Is there a way to to make it turn off completely when turning off tv? Thanks!

Asked by: kikiturc
Stand by is the only option i guess... there is no option turn it off completely (at least based on the manual). Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Does the JBL Bar 5.1 properly pass-thru and/or process Dolby Vision? And just to confirm this bar will NOT pass--thru and/or process Atmos and/or DTS-X. Thank you

Asked by: tyjon31
Correct, The JBL Bar 5.1 Supports HDR/HDR10/Dolby Vision pass-through as the HDMi Ports in the bar are HDCP 2.2 which should be compatible with it. Unfortunately, Dolby Atmos and DTS-x are not supported .

Do you have USB audio input? and how can you connect it to my computer?

Asked by: juangabritorri
The Bar 3.1 owner's manual states USB audio is supported! It is mp3 and wav only (page 9) with instructions on how to use it (page 6). The Bar 5.1 owner's manual is not out at the time of me writing this, but I would hope the upgraded model has at least the same setup. Would have been better with flac support over wav support though. No one is ripping to USB in an uncompressed format when flac gives the same quality for quite a bit less size. It is also open-source so anyone can use it for their products. Not sure why JBL didn't include it as a usable format.

When the rear speakers are attached which speakers on the sound bar are supposed to be in use? Is the center channel to be playing in conjunction with the rest of the speakers?

Asked by: Tony03
always having the rear satellites fixed in foot rests ... does the bar have some kind of side cover to cover the part where the satellites are loaded in the bar? It is a bit lacking in aesthetics, not having the satellites.

Does this unit have full 4k pass thru for the video? I did not see anything about that in the specs.

Asked by: Ret97Army
Yes it has. The JBL Bar 5.1 has HDCP 2.2 that utilizes 4K and can passthrough 4K video.
